Pillow Talk.

I love tucking my son into his cozy bed at night. Only now instead of a cozy nest covered with an array of soft flannel and welcoming blankets we are instead forced to inhabit the raging inferno of heat our bedrooms have become over the past few days. We now slumber to the loud hum of giant fans and thin layers of sweaty sheets. Ah summer...he joys...
Well, back to my original point. The joys of tucking my cute son into his bed at night. Well, we began again with a terrible tale told by myself of "Benny the long eared rabbit" who couldn't jump anymore because he ate too much chips and pop, and not enough veggies. A good lesson I myself could afford to learn again as my diet lately consists of solely water, freezies and a bit of ice cream to relieve myself from the heat. And then we somehow ended up on the topic of God. I love to ask my children about their knowledge of the Creator.

"Benny, do you know who God is?"

"Yeah... ( a slight bit of pondering)
he made me and he is so BIG and MIGHTY and the mountains are his and the waters are his and the stars too."
(he obviously pays attention to the sons I've been singing to him)
"And he is making mommys baby in her tummy!"

What a smart little guy he is.

"Now mommy can you sing me the ridiculous spanish song with the frog in it?"

Did he just use the word ridiculous?

"Benny did you just say ridiculous?"

"yeah, I like that ridiculous song about the frog"

He is refering to a song I taught him the other night. An old camp song that is indeed ridiculous. I have no idea where he learns to use these big words in context. All I know is...HE TALK GOOD.
Better than my own grammar sometimes I swear. I'm so proud of that little boy. As mich as he drives me bonkers he fills my heart until it spills over with love. What a guy that Benjamin Caleb.

So, I sang the frog song and of course I sang "you are my sunshine" and within seconds he was asleep.
Seriously... can I keep him?

He's pretty darn cute :)

Are you as worried as I am about when our boys hit the teenage years and the girls start stalking them?

:)

I love reading your stories. Especially about your kids. It's so nice to hear about kids that are sweet and smart (like the kids on all my blogging links). How far along are you now, Christy? It must be getting HOT!
