Let her be

How does that saying go? Let sleeping babes lie? Or something like that. Or maybe it's dogs. Whatever. Well, that's some good sound advice either way if you ask me. Last night I got home from an evening hanging with Amanda and Tianna. We were gonna watch House, my most favouritest show EVER. But it happened to be a RERUN because the new season doesn't start until November. But that's okay, we girls had a good chat.
SO, I got home late and all was still and quiet in the Heigh household. I decided I wanted to go and gaze at little Maggie in all her glorious, sleeping, cuteness. I tiptoed in and waited for my eyes to adjust to the dark. And there she was...still, silent, peaceful. A state in which she can only be found while sleeping. Her fuzzy little head was pressed up against the crib slats just enough for me to pucker my lips up and kiss her matted, sweet smelling hair. I had to resiste the urge to pick her up and bury my whole face into her. But I didn't want to risk her waking up. So, I stood to leave...
just one more kiss, she just looks so soft. I reach through the bars of her cozy prison and gently rub her back. Awwww. So cute.
What's this? She instantly stands up and starts looking around confused. And then comes the wailing. Now I have to spend the next half hour trying to settle her down again so I can get to bed. Sigh.
But you know what? I secretly like it, because she snuggles into my neck and rubs her little hand on my back. It's nice to be needed. But I think tomorrow, I'll just stay out of her room.

OK so remember how I said I didn't want to be fertile? Your kids totally make me change my mind and say I WANT ONE!

I too had to resist going into her room when she was sleeping but I unlike you greatly feared her waking up and I wouldn't know how to settle her but shes oh so cute!

amen! I had my two little boys both in bed with me this morning, sound asleep, facing one another with their arms wrapped around each other. It's the most precious time to be a mom :)
