Random

I've found myself less and less apt to sit and peruse on the computer these days. The importance of what goes on inside my computer screen seems to pale in comparison to what is going on in my house these days. And thus you may find my comments frequenting your blog less and my posts a little more sporadic at best. I tend to be a "spurt blogger" anywho. But, for those of you who love our little family and care to know of it's comings and goings. There is always something to tell of.

I'm a little bummed as my tall, smiling hubby just walked out the door to go to the "Breakforth" conference in Edmonton. He's excited but I won't get to see his handsome face for a good five days. It's exciting for him to attend these conferences, he always come home with a renewed desire to pursue his dreams and serve the one we call Lord and Saviour. Truthfully though, I feel a bit jipped that I never get to go. So this year while he's away I'm off to Abbotsford to see my beloved family. A qick stop in Merrit to see Gramma and Grampa along the way too. No point in me sitting at home moping for five days. :)

In other news, yesterday Olivia got stabbed in the leg my nice lady four times. And now as you can imagine she's not a happy camper. I SERIOUSLY consider not continuing with her vaccinations as she was unlike I've ever seen her all day yesterday. She screamed with the needles and a wimpered and cried all day. She has NEVER been like that. It broke my heart into a million little peices. Precious, fragile, sweet, little princess. She's not up yet, but today hopefully will see a happy Olivia. I also realised to my shock and delight the sesitivity and love of my eldest girl. I brought Megan along with me to the vaccination clinic. The nurse gave her the ever important, big girl job of ringing the bell after each shot. Which she did like a trooper until she saw what was really going on. After the second leg and Olivia screaming wet tears into my shirt Megan looked into my eyes and began a quiet tearful plea for us to stop. She burried her blonde head into my leg and cried for her little sister's pain. And I couldn't have been more proud of her.

Update:

I've just returned from my little jaunt to the West and we had a great time. We made an appearance at the zoo to the great delight of many animals, I'm sure. We enjoyed a swing or two at the local park and of course a few hours watching "Treehouse" while the mom's recuperated on the couch. On the way home I got a flat tire. Of course. This happened at the most inconvenient of times. Of course. But, I did manage to make it to the airport to pick up my hubby and have him change it. I only stopped at just about every gas station in Kelowna to top the stupid tire with air. But, I now know how to change the tire on our van. If any of you mom's don't yet know...LEARN!

In other news, Olivia is now nearly fifteen pounds and has grown over four inches since birth. It's official, she will out grow me by her first birthday.

Pictures to come.

Glad you had a good trip...good idea to get away while your hubby was gone=)

So sad about the shots=( I am so dreading Baby J's 2 month ones! It's that look of 'how could you let them do this to me??!!' that rips my heart out!

I'm so glad that you had a good trip. I'm looking forward to seeing fun pictures whenever you get a chance to post. I hope that little Olivia feels better soon - those shots are no fun!

Glad to see that all is pretty much well in your world. Hope Olivia is back to herself in no time. I think I must come out west and learn your secret to the wonderful breastmilk you all are serving up out there! I hope you get to go to Breakforth at least once. I went the year we lived in Edmonton and it was really cool! Thanks for the update and like everyone else can't wait to see pictures.

Hey Christy! I saw your Dad at ITB the other day and he told me about your blog site thingy. Well, I had never heard of blogging, but I found your site, and I spent about 2 hours perusing through it! Wow, 3 munchkins! They're adorable. I'm so happy for you, Christy, the Lord has blessed you richly. I can only say the same for myself... I've been married to Pete now for 4 1/2 years, and it truly keeps getting better. No, we don't have kids yet...it seems God has something else planned for us, we're not sure what yet, but we know that He does everything for our good. And He has given us comfort in that.

So, I tried to create a bog site for myself, but I don't know how it all works. I tried to put a link to your site on my blogger account but I can't quit figure it out. Maybe it happens automatically if you blog my site? I don't even know if my blog to you is going to work. I hope so, because I really just wanted to touch base and say Hi and I love you!

Oh, and a couple more things. I think I agree with you that DC is one of the greatest things. But what's this I hear of chocolate-covered cookie dough? Must have...

Hi Christy- I'm glad you're home safe and sound. Still wish I could've come along for the ride... Poor little Olivia. I know you guys are going away again soon but I think, at some point, another game of something is due?? Us Riemers need to try our luck at dice again (well, of course, it's all skill- no luck.)

The shot feelings are so understable...you just hurt when your children hurt. I have also experienced the flat tire thing...its a good thing to know and there is never a convenient time for it to happen!
