The truth of the matter

Awhile ago someone had made a comment that they thought Dusin was the one in the family who takes the pictures. And while yes it is true, he does have more natural artistic talent than I and does take some of the pictures posted here at Heigh Five, I must say that I tend to be the more passionate photographer in the house. I must give credit where credit is due however. Dustin's reputation as an artist does preceed him and it is him who has taught me most of what i know about photography. He still can take the camera out of my hand and almost always take a better picture which has no end of frustrations for me. But, it is still I who takes the majority of the pictures around here. Someone just commented on my last post that "how can I resist taking picutres of such cute subjects?". And that's just my problem. I can't. Especially of Olivia because she's pretty much immobile so it's much easier to manipulate the lighting and get a clear shot. It must be obvious that I have a love for it. And remember, I am LOOKING for practice and a reason to brighten up a portfolio. So, if you want... let me take your picture. If not, I have three unwilling participants here. But, I can force them to look cute if i have to.
And then sometimes they just look cute without even trying. Like today...

PS. I took these. In case you were wondering.
.......isn't it difficult to imagine such a child being able to make me want to rip all my hair out?

As always, great photos. Are you just using natural light by the window. I too have less than willing subjects and unfortunately no longer have the non moving type. Keep up the good work and I will come over soon to learn from you!!!

Not only do you have talent of your own, you have the discipline and determination to just keep getting BETTER! And she's so cute - I really hope she marries Nathan one day :)

Christy,
I would love for you to take some pictures of my girl (Karalyn). She's prettty photogenic, and will probably sit still for you too! My mom would love some pictures for her birthday.

I have to go to Kelowna sometime soon.
You could meet me. I'll buy you coffee, you can take my picture. But only if you can make me look really really hot. I'll try and sit still.
