A pleasant surprise.

Last night Dustin and I were able to go on a VERY overdue date night. It's been over three months since we went on a date just the two of us. Isn't that sad? But, my loving and thoughtful husabnd took the initiative and arranged babysitters so we could have some uninterrupted alone time. But first we had to stop and vote-of course.

I must say that the cute little ladies at our polling station just made my day! Not only did they comment on how dreamy my husband was but they told me I was just as beautiful as he! This may sound conceited but I've always felt like Dustin was a little out of my league. Despite his many assurances. And they made me feel so good about myself. What a great way to start an evening.

We had a delicious dinner at the Cactus Club and then spent hour wandering chapters reading books on home building, photography, comic drawings, decorating. And of course we couldn't leave without getting a Frappuccino! That would be...well, it would be a crime.

Thanks to our good friends Steve and Amanda for watching our little darling for us. Even though Megan had a few moments of terror for them. Seems to be happening a little more freguently again. She probably wants me to stay on my toes. None of this slacking in the parental dept. hey Megs? Hopefully she's good while we're in Lethbridge. The kids and I are going to be in Lethbridge for a week visiting mes famille. While Dustin is at Breakforth in Edmonton then laying some hardwood in his brother's new home. So, I plan on doing some serious visiting to all you Lethbridge readers out there. Play dates anyone? And Shareen, you'd better keep and evening free for me. I'm NOT going home this time without some serious girl time with you.

So, that's it for me folks. I'm feeling good today. Amazing how a few hours away with your spouse can keep you going through the rest of the week.

I'm glad you and Dustin got away for a few hours! Jordan and I are so long overdue for a date night. :) And hooray for great friends like the Browns to watch the little ones.

Seriously? When are you coming? Like NEXT week next week or the week after that? Next week I'll be here Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but Thursday I leave for Victoria to visit Craig. I'm scheduled to work each of those nights but I can try and give one away if that's when you'll be here.

I have Sunday night off...how does that work for you? Other than that I work Friday (and then have a birthday party to hit up) and Saturday (and then have to go to a going away party) but Sunday is completely free. Let me know.

Good for you guys! I know it's been well over a month now that we've had a "date night" and even the last one wasn't about us...it was Christmas shopping, but at least it was kid-free :) It does regenerate your soul doesn't it?
